ADRIAN GILBERT

 


Adrian Gilbert was born near London on 26 July 1949. In 1991 he set up Solos Press, an independent publishers specialising in reprints of important Hermetic books. His own first work was "The Cosmic Wisdom Beyond Astrology". The intention behind this book was that it should bring together scientific reasoning and mystical insight. As things have turned out this has continued to be the hallmark of Adrian's writing and explains why his books have achieved wide recognition.


In 1992 Adrian met up with Robert Bauval and together they wrote what was to become an international best seller: THE ORION MYSTERY (1994). This was followed by a string of other best selling books: THE MAYAN PROPHECIES (1995), MAGI (1996), THE HOLY KINGDOM (1998) and, most recently, SIGNS IN THE SKY (2000). He is currently working on a new book and has others planned for when this is finished.

OPENING THE STAR-GATE AND THE HERMETIC PHILOSOPHY

Last year Adrian took a party of interested researchers to Egypt and Israel. Whilst there they witnessed an unusual celestial phenomenon: the symbolic opening of the star-gate with the solstice sun www.adriangilbert.co.uk sitting exactly on top of the Khafre Pyramid. At the conference Adrian proposes to show slides of this event as well as others related to his next, as yet unpublished, book. These will show how the same astronomical ideas that inspired ancient Egypt under-pinned the world-view of philosophers in 17th century England.
