New Information Posted 18th December 2000

I have been asked to point out that the Unsolved Mysteries exhibition, which was scheduled to take place at Linz, Austria, next July, has changed it venue and date. It will now take place at the Schottenstift, Freyung 6, 1010 Vienna, which I understand is within the crypts of a major cathedral. The new dates are from the 22 July to 23 September 2001. According to organiser Klaus Dona, over 250 mysterious artefacts from cultures across the world have been secured for the exhibition, including many from completely unknown cultures in Ecuador and Colombia. The exhibition will also feature a major conference. I shall be there and if you want to know more check out their extensive website at www.unsolved-mysteries.net

UNSOLVED MYSTERIES EXHIBITION IN LINZ FOR 2001

An Announcement from Andrew Collins

To coincide with the opening week, key speakers from around the world will be invited to deliver lectures at a major international conference on ancient mysteries, historical enigmas and the evidence for extraterrestrial visitations in past ages.

Altogether, some 150 individual items have been secured for the two-month duration of the exhibition. They include various crystal skulls, gold models of aeroplanes from Peru, copies of reliefs of ancient `bulbs' from the Temple of Denderah in Egypt; the model glider found in Saqqara in 1888; carved stones from Ica, Peru and some quite remarkable pieces from archaeological digs in Colombia and Peru.

I have been invited to present a lecture during the opening week and have also seen photographs of some of the artefacts to go on display, and believe me you have just got see this lot. For instance, from Colombia there are black stone surgical instruments fashioned into strange amphibian like beasts with wavy blades, as well as strange carved disks with curious stars and beasts and unfathomable cups. These last mentioned items are fashioned from dark stone. Yet incised flush into their surface are circular specks of a red stone. They seem to spiral towards a centre which is the only spot on the cup that it magnetic. Other similar vessels with strange designs also have inexplicable magnetic qualities.

Equally strange items have been secured from Ecuador, Peru and Argentina.

There is an eerie quality about some of these artefacts - something that just does not compute with the mindset of the western world. For example, the cult centre at Nevali Çori in southwest Turkey was constructed around 8000 BC. Yet in design it resembles any place of worship constructed ever since that date, for it has four walls, is rectangular in shape, has a flat floor, an entrance portal, niches, statues, and probably even an altar. The same format is still being used in the design of churches, synagogues, shrines, temples and mosques today. Yet these items from South America fit no known ideology found among the recorded pre-Columbian cultures of the continent, or any civilisation of the ancient world. There is a true mystery here.

I will bring you more news on this fascinating event as and when I receive details. In the meantime visit their web site at www.unsolved-mysteries.net
