LAKOTA TRIBE TO CELEBRATE BIRTH OF WHITE BUFFALO CALF AS FULFILMENT OF 2000-YEAR OLD PROPHECY
The Lakota tribe of the Great Plains are planning to celebrate the fulfilment of their prophecy regarding the return of the White Buffalo Woman with an event to be held in Montana on June 26. It will be officiated by Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the current guardian of the peace pipe said to have been given to the ancestors of the tribe when White Buffalo Woman first appeared out of the sky and began instructing the tribe on the seven sacred prayers and a new code of living some 2000 years ago.
All this comes in the wake of the Lakota's acceptance that the birth of a white buffalo calf born in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone Park on June 4, marks the beginning of the fulfilment of the prophecy - a prophecy accepted also by other tribes including the Sioux, Cherokee, Comanche, Shoshones, and Navajo.
That said, it will be the Lakota that will officiate at the event, although other tribes may well send delegates. It will celebrate the long-held belief that what will now follow is the return of the White Buffalo Woman herself, whose imminent arrival will signal great change in the world. She was last seen making her departure from the tribe's ancestors by rolling on the ground four times, changing each time into a buffalo of a different colour, the last of which was the white buffalo. She said before her departure that It would be the arrival of a white buffalo calf with special markings that would confirm her imminent return to this world. (This clerly has similarities to the incarnation of the Apis bull in ancient Egyptian tradition, which also have special marks to confirm its identity.)
The event to celebrate the fulfilment of the Lakota prophecy will take place on June 26 in the town of West Yellowstone, Montana. It will be hosted by the Buffalo Field Campaign, a group looking forward to the return of the White Buffalo Woman.
Chief Arvol Looking Horse, who is the 19th generation keeper of the pipe given to the tribe by White Buffalo Woman, says that the unique birth of the calf shows that "we must do more," a reference to the state of the world today, which, as we know, includes the ominous prospect of World War 3.
According to an interview the Lakota elder did with the BBC, "All nations should come together at their sacred places and unify with us in prayer," he says, adding that the calf's arrival is both "a blessing and a warning".
"I'm so overwhelmed. It's a miracle," he admitted.
What makes the calf born in Yellowstone Park so important is not simply that this happened within Lakota territory, but also that it has black eyes, a black nose and a black hooves, all of which the prophecy stipulated would be present.

These latest developments surrounding the white buffalo calf born in Yellowstone Park on June 4 are quite simply astounding. The fact that myself and our assembled group would appear to have picked up on the imminent fulfilment of this prophecy during an impromptu meditation on Crystal Hill, a solid quartz mound close to Giant Rock, near Landers in California, just one day earlier is simply extraordinary.
I must point out once more that before the idea of the prophesied birth of the white buffalo calf came flooding into my minds on June 3 I knew next to nothing about this story and had no personal interest in it.
Obviously sceptics would say this is all a case of simple coincidence, although for those who were there these events have taken on a life of their own that certainly does not appear to be a series of random coincidences without meaning or purpose.
I would love to attend the event in West Yellowstone on June 26, although this will be impossible as I will be in the UK. Hopefully some of my friends can attend providing the public are allowed to participate. If anyone else can get out there then please take pictures and let me know how it goes.
The other thing of importance here is that the Lakota are calling for representatives of other tribes to join them at the event. Hopefully this will happen. Beyond this they are asking that spiritual persons everywhere mark this event by doing their own thing wherever they might be.
So on June 26 why not mark the fulfilment of the Lakota prophecy by organising a suitable ritual, ceremony, or meditation, or if not possible to do then simply light a candle in your home. The more energy we can put into this event the more potent the outcome will be. Maybe we can even help change the world for the better.
