ANDREW COLLINS

Andrew Collins was born on January 25, 1957, in Bedford, England. He is a science and history writer, and the author of books that challenge the way we perceive the past. They include From the Ashes of Angels, Gods of Eden, Gateway to Atlantis, Tutankhuman: The Exodus Conspiracy (co-authored with Chris Ogilvie Herald), The Cygnus Mystery, Göbekli Tepe: Genesis of the Gods and The Cygnus Key: The Denisovan Legacy, Göbekli Tepe and the Birth of Egypt. AND DID THOSE FEET IN ANCIENT TIME GAZE UPON GÖBEKLI TEPE ...

EXTRAORDINARY ILLUSTRATION SUGGESTS THAT NINETEENTH CENTURY ENGLISH ARTIST AND POET WILLIAM BLAKE SAW GÖBEKLI TEPE

"And did those feet in ancient time" is a line from nineteenth-century artist and poet William Blake's classic poem "Jerusalem", which is today England's unofficial national anthem.

The poem, made into a hymn by Sir Hubert Parry in 1916, is an ode to the idea that Jesus might have visited England with his uncle Joseph of Arimathea before embarking on his ministry back in the Holy Land.

Yet those same words can well be used to question whether, during his lifetime, Blake had in mind a much more ancient mystery - that of Göbekli Tepe, the oldest stone temple in the world, located in what is today southeast Turkey.

PRINCE ALBERT VICTOR AND THE RIPPER MURDERS OF 1888: FRESH CLUES FROM NEWLY SURFACED LETTERS

Andrew Collins

Recently surfaced letters written by Prince Albert Victor, the Duke of Clarence and Avondale (1864-1892), reveal that Queen Victoria's grandson contracted gonorrhea, almost certainly after sleeping with prostitutes. Although if news of this story had surfaced in the news media during Victorian times it would have caused a public scandal, and even threatened the stability of the British monarchy, it is no big deal in today's terms. More significant, however, is that the contents of these extraordinary letters addressed to a surgeon treating the Prince at the time lend weight to a theory that the Prince's nefarious activities might have led to the murder of five prostitutes on the streets of East London during the summer and autumn of 1888. These murders were, of course, attributed to one Jack the Ripper, whose identity remains a mystery to this day.

ANDREW TALKS LIGHTQUEST
To Claire Whiles of The Light and Energy Channel



Watch Claire Whiles of the Light and Energy Channel talk to Andrew Collins about everything LightQuest. The interview was filmed in a quiet corner of the garden at The Barge Inn, Honeystreet, in Wiltshire, where Andrew will be talking about his book on August 26th. See the events section. It makes for amusing viewing, and very shortly it will be aired on Edge Media TV (Sky Channel 200), so watch out for that too.

BEYOND LIGHTQUEST

In addition to doing some serious promotion of LightQuest, including UK distribution and sales, Andrew is writing new book "Finding Eden: Göbekli Tepe and the Genesis of Civilization". This will include a two-week trek out to eastern Turkey to better explore Göbekli Tepe (where I was in 2004 - see the opening chapters of THE CYGNUS MYSTERY). He is also exploring key sites further east in the vicinity of Lake Van, which as early as FROM THE ASHES OF ANGELS (1996) was identified as the most likely site of the terrestrial Paradise of biblical tradition.

Andrew will afterwards turn his attention once again to Giza's cave world, which should be back in the news come spring 2013. Another book on the subject is planned to coincide with this renewed interest in the subject.

ORION AND CYGNUS RECONCILED?

An article recommended by Andrew is Gregory L. Little's recent review of the suspected cosmology of the North American mound building cultures, as seen through the star lore and funerary beliefs of various existing tribes. He points out that academic papers on the subject point clearly to two constellations being seen as working together - these being Orion and Cygnus.

As Greg rightly points out, these Native American beliefs might well help reconcile the seemingly conflicting relationship between the Giza Pyramids and the stars of Orion and Cygnus. Perhaps both constellations played an important role in the ancient stellar religion of the early dynastic Egyptians, just as they did in other parts of the world.

These articles are a taster of a new book being written by Greg as a follow up to his compelling book People of the Web. It will attempt to demonstrate that Orion and Cygnus were seen as the destination of the soul in native American, MesoAmerican and South American cosmological beliefs. He will ask also why these ancient cultures, wise and sophisticated in every respect, came to hold such beliefs. Was it all just in their imaginations, or was there truly some special significance to these selected regions of the night sky concerning the soul's journey to the afterlife?

For the forseeable future I, Andrew Collins, shall be in intense writing mode completing a new book called FINDING EDEN on Göbekli Tepe, one of archaeology's greatest enigma - a 12,000 year old ceremonial complex, the first monumentsal architecture anywhere in the world, 7,000 years older than the Pyramids of Egypt and Stonehenge in England. I shall be looking at its precise purpose, who built it and its relationship to the Watchers of the book of Enoch and the biblical Garden of Eden.

For this reason, this site will remain quiet during this period.

GIZA CAVES FILLED IN TO PROTECT THEM FROM LOOTERS

Big news announcement!!! We can exclusively reveal that Dr Zahi Hawass has blocked the entrance into Giza's cave system inside the Tomb of the Birds (NC2), AND filled in the tube reached at the farthest point explored within the complex (see picture). This comes after fears that the site was about to be looted. However, Dr Hawass promises that the caves are to receive a full investigation in the near future (if that it is, he remains as Minister of Antiquities, a job he could lose in the coming elections).

Göbekli TEPE IN NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE

The 12,000-year-old stone temple complex of Göbekli Tepe was featured recently in National Geographic magazine. Accompanied the article, which details the excavations and possible origins of this extraordinary site, are a series of breathtaking photos, which are causing quite a stir. One of them shows a rectilinear stone pillar fashioned into an abstract anthropomorphic, headless figure wearing a complex belt and animal pelt as a loin cloth. Remember this stone was carved as much as 7,500 years BEFORE the construction of the Great Pyramid or the erection of Stonehenge in England. No question, we are dealing with the handiwork of a highly sophisticated culture that must have existed at the end of the last Ice Age. This complex was not done by simple hunter gatherers, who wanted to put together a clan meeting point, as has been suggested by scholars. Follow the debate on Andrew's facebook page regarding the identity of the animals featured on the various stones at Göbekli Tepe.

HIEROGLYPHIC GRAFFITI FOUND
INSIDE THE GREAT PYRAMID

Hieroglyphic graffiti has been found behind the secret door in the southern shaft of the Queen's Chamber, inside the Great Pyramid, by a team from the University of Leeds. Robert Bauval talked about it in his lecture in Warsaw over the weekend. Apparently, it could mean something like "emerging into the light", although an exact translation has yet to be published. MARCH 2011

Hi, plenty to report from the past month. Andrew has written extensively on the Bosnian pyramids, caught a stunning EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) at a Native American mound site in Texas, debunked a ghost light elsewhere in the same state, examined South Africa's Adam's Calendar - thought by some researchers to be the oldest stone circle in the world - and photographed just a few of South Africa's ancient stone ruins from the hot seat of a helicopter that saw action in the Vietnam War.

Debunking the
Big Thicket Ghost Light

The same day that Andrew captured the EVP at the Caddo Mounds State Historical Park - Sunday, March 6th, 2011 - he visited the site of the Big Thicket ghost light in Hardin County, East Texas. Strange lights have been witnessed on numerous occasions across the last century along an eight-mile stretch of road that runs between Farm Road 1293 and the US 787 highway near the town of Saratoga. NEWS IN BRIEF

* Andrew has completed writting new book LightQuest, which will also feature a section by Dr Greg Little and a DVD. It's strapline is "Your Guide to Seeing and Interacting with Mysterious Lights and UFO Intelligences". It should be out during the summer sometime.
* The new DVD on the story behind the discovery of the Giza caves, with unseen footage of the complex and interviews with all those involved in this epic story, is also now nearing completion. Like the DVD for LightQuest, it is being created by Greg Little in Memphis, TN. This should be available during the late spring.

What leading Egyptologist Dr Alaaeldin Shaheen did NOT say to ignite a debate that will run and run

The Pyramids of Giza were not the product of alien technology.

In late November a news report appeared online claiming that one of the world's leading Egyptologists has implied that aliens might have been involved in the construction of the Pyramids of Giza, adding that there was something "out of this world" inside the Great Pyramid. Andrew investigates this story and finds out it is not all what it seems, and that the Egyptologist in question did not say anything of the sort.

When it comes to exploring the necropolis at Giza, following up long overlooked leads in old books and excavation reports can, just occasionally, lead to dramatic results - our rediscovery in 2008 of a previously unrecorded cave complex in the plateau's north cliff being a prime example. Andrew Collins' discovery in 2008 of a huge cave complex at Giza, sought for so many years by Egyptologists, amateur explorers and followers of Edgar Cayce, was always going to cause an enormous counter reaction from those who did not find it. Even Zahi Hawass, who still publicly denies their existence - despite a wealth of published evidence to the contrary - immediately initiated his own exploration of the tomb and caves, with a TV crew in tow.

The reaction to the discovery of the caves from other quarters has been less than complimentary. Attacks leveled against Andrew Collins come from those with an overwhelming belief that they should have been the ones to have found them.

On April 28, 2010 video footage appeared claiming to show Atlantean artefacts being secretly loaded on to a low loader by a heavy forklift vehicle around 2am that morning. Those who promoted this video as evidence of a conspiracy at Giza urged everyone to link it to their webpage or website since the cameraman, a foreign national, was now on the run and in fear of his life. Why? Because he had donned an Egyptian uniform and sneaked into a "compound" to capture this unique piece of film footage.

Sounding like something from an Indiana Jones movie, the video clip ignited the world into believing that something sinister was afoot, a shameful misappropriation of priceless objects from the fabled Hall of Records involving everyone from Dr Zahi Hawass to Edgar Cayce's A.R.E. (Association for Research and Enlightenment).

WHERE ARE THE CAVES! So far the Giza caves have not featuring in the TV series Chasing Mummies, which follows around Dr Zahi Hawass, and is airing at this time in the USA on The History Channel. It might well be that something has changed, or that my source was simply wrong. Let's wait until the end of the series before commenting further.

NOTHING TO BE SEEN. I understand from John van Auken, the director of Edgar Cayce's A.R.E., that Hawass still publicly denies the existence of the caves, saying that there is nothing new here. This is at odds with what I have heard through other sources about Hawass's knowledge of the complex. All this is in advance of Hawass's personal appearance at the A.R.E.'s Ancient Mysteries conference at Virginia Beach in October. I urge all those who are going to attend this conference to ensure that he is asked some pertinent questions about the caves, and make sure you record his responses!

CYGNUS'S COSMIC WIND. Cygnus is back in the news again. It was recently revealed that scientists believe they might have detected a cosmic wind of dark energy emanating from the astronomical coordinates of the Cygnus constellation.

I am not sure how this relates to any of my theories regarding cosmic rays from Cygnus affecting human evolution, and the rise of human consciousness, but it is something else to think about.

ALBINO JACKDAW. One of the biggest stories in Avebury at the moment is the presence of an albino jackdaw, among the hundreds if not thousands of normal black jackdaws that inhabit the area. I have taken some great pics and video. One picture shows the beautiful creature on an apple tree within an Avebury garden. How magical is this - an albino bird on an apple tree in the centre of the world's biggest stone circle. Sounds like something out of Celtic mythology. In the Welsh Mabinogion it is Bran's sister Branwen who is associated with the white crow. In Celtic myth Branwen is seen as a form of love goddess.

I do hope that the bird, which I named "Jackie", lives long and prospers, since usually albino birds are rejected by the other birds. This doesn't seem to be the case here, since the bird flies with its mother, and sometimes one other bird, although they do seem to leave it alone quite a lot. 3D CROP CIRCLE. The crop circle season is nearly over, and I was able to visit a few good examples out and about. For me the one most meaningful and extraordinary was the 3D cross cube formation found beneath Cley Hill, Warminster. Beautiful setting, and nicely timed as I had been writing about the area recently for the section on Warminster as the UK's UFO mecca during the 1960s and 1970s for the book LightQuest, co-authored with Greg Little.

I have been to the formation twice, the last time on Monday this week with Whitley Strieber and his wife Anne. Whitley is, of course, the worldwide bestselling author of books such as Communion, published in 1987. I could not help but admit to him that in my opinion this formation was manmade, created by a genius in the few hours of darkness we have at this time of year. I told him that these works of art should never be called "hoaxes", but instead "revelations", full of meaning and symbolism. Encoded within them are subtle keys to understanding human progression far beyond the much hyped date of 2012. Whitley was very interested in what I had to say, and said that he would weigh it up against an alternative theory pitched to him by another researcher in the crop circle field just days earlier implying that all the best formations appeared miraculously in an instant of time. I do hope Whitley comes to a satisfactory resolution over this mystery of our times. See some great pics of that day with Whitley and Anne on my Facebook page. Last month we brought you news of the archaeological excavations taking place in the vicinity of the Sphinx, which instead of being part of some dark conspiracy are in fact bonafide and were announced in advance by Dr Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities. We reported on the fact that a deep shaft, up to 100 feet deep, had been uncovered immediately east of the southern entrance to the Valley Temple of Khafre, close to the Great Sphinx. From its basic description, the shaft is thought to have been constructed in the Twenty-Sixth dynasty, also known as the Saite Period, dating back to around 2,500 years ago.

7,500-YEAR-OLD STONE CIRCLE IN ARMENIA ALIGNED TO CYGNUS'S BRIGHTEST STAR

A new study into Armenia's Carahunge stone circle complex, has shown that it is arguably one of the oldest known megalithic sites outside of Turkey, dating to around 5500 BC. Moreover, investigations by Russian prehistorian Professor Paris Herouni indicate that Carahunge (car means "stone" in Armenian, and hunge means "voice" or "sound"), located some 200km from the Armenian capital Yerevan, not far from the town of Sisian, was created as an astronomical observatory marking the movement not only of the sun and moon, but also the stars. Cairo: The entrance to Egypt's cave underworld has been sealed shut just two years after its modern day discovery. Access to the tomb leading to these natural caverns, located beneath the famous Pyramids of Giza, is now blocked by a metal gate set in concrete.

The move follows recent work to clear the interior of the tomb known as NC2 or the "Tomb of the Birds", and located in the plateau's north cliff.

So far very little has emerged. Only two basic plans have been found, the latest being found in a Reisner expedition diary entry made in 1939. Last week came rumours out of Nazlet el-Samman, the village next to the Giza plateau, that six people had been killed after an illegal pit dug beneath a house collapsed on them. The story is that they were attempting to reach a lost city or palace thought to exist under the village. The rumours turned out to be true, and what is more a haul of precious items, some covered in gold leaf, are said to have been removed from the premises. Has Khufu's lost temple been found? Despite the fact that the discovery at Giza of a cave underworld by Andrew Collins and colleagues has in recent weeks been the subject of many online blogs and forums, some of them Egyptological in nature, no one has so far come up with any information that might throw further light on their existence. Although there have been bold claims that the caves have been known about all along, not a shred of evidence has been offered to support these assertions. This all makes their modern-day discovery that much more unique and relevant to the age-old belief that a physical representation of the Duat underworld, under the domain of the earth god Sokar, once existed here.

The location of the tomb where the cave entrance was located has been dubbed the Tomb of the Birds, since it would appear to have been the site of a bird cemetery in Late Dynastic times. There is some evidence that it might have been a raptor cemetery (following clues offered to Nigel Skinner Simpson and Andrew Collins by Dr Salima Ikram, professor of Egyptology at the American University in Cairo), allowing for the possibility that the bird cult associated with the location was that of the falcon-headed god Sokar, guardian if Rostau, the name in pharaonic times for both the Duat of Giza-Memphis and the Giza pyramid field. Rostau means "mouth of the passages", an apt description of the entrance to a cave underworld.

REPORTS THAT A NEOLITHIC 'CITY' HAS BEEN UNEARTHED IN EGYPT'S FAIYUM OASIS ARE GROUNDLESS - ANDREW COLLINS HAS THE FULL STORY

In February an Egyptian press agency announced the discovery of a Neolithic 'city' in the Faiyum Oasis. Dating back 7,200 years, it was said to have roads, walls and settlement structures constructed of terracotta and dressed limestone, while unconfirmed reports spoke of the US team from the California of University finding 'decorated blocks of granite', as well as firm evidence that the settlement was once beneath the waters of the Birket Qarun lake.

However, confusion reigns with respect to this discovery, and it is now known that the original press release mixed together two separate stories - one relating to the uncovery in the faiyum of a Neolithic settlment and the other concerning recent work on a nearby Graeco-Roman village. Tutankhamun Died in Hunting Accident -
Its Official!

A new documentary will demonstrate that Tutankhamun was killed falling from a chariot during a hunting accident, a view being championed by Zahi Hawass, director of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities. Compelling evidence will be presented on a Channel Five special in the UK on 30 October to show that his background as a keen hunter, and the injuries sustained before his death at the age of just 18, are consistent with him having suffered some kind of fall from a fast moving vehicle. This theory, which has been suspected since Tutankhamun's remains were subjected to a CT scan two years ago, follows melodramatic claims by various authors that the boy king was murdered at the orders of his successor, the elderly Aye. Such ideas have always contradicted the evidence, and hopefully they will now be laid to rest. Andrew Collins and co-author Chris Ogilvie Herald concluded in TUTANKHAMUN: THE EXODUS CONSPIRACY (2000) that the boy king was killed in a hunting accident, something that might well have been preserved in a folk tale found in the Jewish Talmud.

England's First Serpent Mound Under Threat of Burial from Road. A Report by Andrew Collins

On 4th July 2007 Hereford Council released details of one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in Britain for a very long time. A 65-metre long serpent mound of fire-cracked stones in zigzagging paths has been unearthed at Rotherwas in Herefodshire, close to the border between England and Wales. Yet it is immediately under threat of being buried beneath a new highway, but can anything now be done about it? Andrew Collins reports, giving his own unique view and comparing the Rotherwas Serpent Mound with another of equal importance on Loch Nell in Scotland and Ohio's own serpent mound in Serpent Mound Park, Adams County. Cygnus vs Orion at Giza - A Response to Robert Bauval Queries by Andrew Collins

Since February Robert Bauval, co-author with Adrian Gilbert of THE ORION MYSTERY, has attacked the Cygnus-Giza correlation proposed in Andrew Collins's most recent book THE CYGNUS MYSTERY. This has come by way of postings on the Graham Hancock message board, the premier forum of the ancient mysteries subject (along with the Hall of Maat, which has also debated the Cygnus-Giza correlation). For some two weeks Andrew meticulously answered all queries thrown at him by Robert and his supporters of the Orion Correlation theory. In just one week the first thread attracted over 270 postings and was discontinued since it had become too long and cluttered. Others started immediately, and since the last week in February there have been many hundreds of new postings on the Cygnus vs Orion debate.

However, Andrew had to discontinue the debate as he and his wife Sue moved house from Essex to the West Country, which through a series of unfortunate circumstances meant that he was offline for nearly a month. In Andrew's absence Robert Bauval ran rings around the Cygnus-Giza debate, stating boldly that it was now as dead as a swan in the water.

Nothing can be further from the truth, for Andrew has now had a chance to read and respond to all queries posed by Robert, and these he intended answering on the Graham Hancock message board. Unfortunately, the moderator deemed that it was too long and that Andrew should still address all individual points made by posters in his absence. Since this would take far too long, and many topics are duplicated, he has decided that the full response will instead appear here on the Andrew Collins website.

THE CYGNUS MYSTERY AND EARLY CHRISTIAN LITERATURE

THE CYGNUS MYSTERY proposes that the earliest usage of the Christian symbol of the Crucifix derived from the pagan cult of Orpheus, who is shown on a magical gem as crucified on a cross. This itself is undoubtedly a representation of the Cygnus constellation, since this star group was said in Greek myth to have been Orpheus in the form of a swan. Now a new article finds further evidence of the relationship between Cygnus and the Crucifixion Cross in early Gnostic texts. CYGNUS vs ORION

THE CYGNUS MYSTERY proposes that the Giza plateau was the location for the cult of the falcon-headed god Sokar, before even the three main pyramids were built in the Fourth Dynasty of Egyptian history. Sokar can be shown to have a celestial counterpart in the northern night sky, which is identified by Andrew Collins as the Cygnus constellation. In view of Cygnus sight lines on the Giza plateau, he shows also that key stars in Cygnus overlay perfectly with the three main pyramids. Indeed, it is a better match that with those of Orion's Belt. Andrew and Sue Collins would like to thank all those who attended the Psychic Questing Weekender in Avebury September. The event was a complete sell out and outright success, especially since it fell on what was arguably the best weekend, weatherwise, in the year.

'Psychic questing has gone back to its roots, and what a difference this made to the atmosphere. Everybody there came with the same yearning to learn new things, and perfect their own art of questing. Each went away knowing now how to bend reality just a little to achieve goals in life, and uncover mysteries of the landscape.'

Most fun was obviously the quest to find the hidden artefact, which was a horse brass showing a swan. Many got very near it, but there could be only one winner, and so congratulations Michael Staley.'

TO REPLACE QUESTING CONFERENCE

This is to officially announce that the usual Questing Conference is to be replaced by a Psychic Questing Weekender, to be held this September in the scenic setting of Avebury in Wiltshire.

The Questing Conference in its current format has run its course, and will no longer take place. This is quite simply because there are now so many similar events in Britain each year that it is severely watering down the ability of an organiser to create and pull off unique and successful conferences. On top of this, Andrew Collins has made the decision to concentrate his time more on conducting further research for upcoming books, and to enjoy life more fully.

Even though the Questing Conference par see will no longer exist, its spirit will be carried through to the Psychic Questing Weekender, which, actually, will be more fun, and more beneficial all round.

In many ways, Andrew is going back to his roots, when the very earliest Psychic Questing Conferences were there to offer an alternative approach to the utilisation of psychic capability in a modern-day context. The Psychic Questing Weekender will allow you to understand this process, through theory, practice, meditation, and philosophies, much of which is expressed in the books by Andrew Collins. There will also be news on some recent successful quests.

And Andrew won't be doing this alone, either.

Familiar faces from the questing community will be on hand to offer their knowledge and experience, and to make sure the whole show goes off without a hitch. There will be no other speakers and no commercial stalls, just a quiet relaxed atmosphere, that will embrace the ancient sanctity of one of Britain's most active ritual landscapes, which includes the Avebury stone complex, Silbury Hill, West Kennet long barrow and Swallowhead Spring, sites that will be visited over the weekend.

ANDREW COLLINS CONFIRMED AS KEY SPEAKER AT PRESTIGIOUS EVENT IN MILAN

Andrew Collins will take part in a key conference on the origins of Egyptian civilisation to be held in Milan on Saturday, 20th April 2007. Also on the bill will be Graham Hanock, Robert Bauval, Robert Schoch and John Anthony West, the first time all five of these figures have come together in one building to discuss a common interest.

Andrew will introduce his brand new vision of the development of the Giza complex, based on simple trigonometry and astronomical alignments. In the knowledge that his findings conflict with those of the other speakers that day, it should make for an entertaining weekend, one that might well go down as legendery!

Andrew Collins to appear at two final conferences before the end of the year

Andrew Collins has been confirmed as a keynote speakear at two major conferences, one in the UK and the other in the USA. The latter is the 'Shh! it's A Secret! Conference' on 16-19 November in Phoenix, Arizona. Andrew and Sue Collins would like to thank all those who attended QuestCon07, the 2007 Questing Conference, held for the first time in Glastonbury. The event was a complete sell out with over 200 people packing out the venue across the weekend.

'It was a great weekend and I personally want to thank not only the delegates, many of whom spent great time and effort being here, but also the staff, stall holders and speakers, who came together in a harmonious way, that has been praised by all,' Andrew said.

'It would be wrong of me to chose my favourite presentation,' he added, 'as they were all good, but all credit must go to Graham Hancock for delivering a dynamic update on his Supernatural talk, which was quite literally life changing.'

NEW - Tutankhamun Died in Hunting Accident - Its Official!

A new documentary will demonstrate that Tutankhamun was killed falling from a chariot during a hunting accident, a view being championed by Zahi Hawass, director of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities. Compelling evidence will be presented on a Channel Five special in the UK on 30 October to show that his background as a keen hunter, and the injuries sustained before his death at the age of just 18, are consistent with him having suffered some kind of fall from a fast moving vehicle. This theory, which has been suspected since Tutankhamun's remains were subjected to a CT scan two years ago, follows melodramatic claims by various authors that the boy king was murdered at the orders of his successor, the elderly Aye. Such ideas have always contradicted the evidence, and hopefully they will now be laid to rest. Andrew Collins and co-author Chris Ogilvie Herald concluded in TUTANKHAMUN: THE EXODUS CONSPIRACY (2000) that the boy king was killed in a hunting accident, something that might well have been preserved in a folk tale found in the Jewish Talmud.

England's First Serpent Mound Under Threat of Burial from Road. A Report by Andrew Collins

On 4th July 2007 Hereford Council released details of one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in Britain for a very long time. A 65-metre long serpent mound of fire-cracked stones in zigzagging paths has been unearthed at Rotherwas in Herefodshire, close to the border between England and Wales. Yet it is immediately under threat of being buried beneath a new highway, but can anything now be done about it? Andrew Collins confirmed for knights Templar 700th Anniversary Conference

This October see the 700th anniversary of the fall of the Knights Templar, and to mark the auspicious occasion there will be a major conference with a host of contributors in Bristol, an old Templar stronghold in England.

Billed as the Knights Templar Commemoration the prestigious event will take place on 12-14th October 2007, with the venue being the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Temple Meads, Bristol, close to the site of the Order's ancient preceptory.

Andrew is scheduled to talk on Cygnus and the Origins of the Cross and Talking Head Cult after lunch on 13th October. If all goes to plan there will be a moment's silence between 13.07 and 13.10, marking the occasion of the arrest of the French Templars at dawn on Friday, 13th October 1307.

Cygnus vs Orion at Giza - A Response to Robert Bauval Queries by Andrew Collins

Since February Robert Bauval, co-author with Adrian Gilbert of THE ORION MYSTERY, has attacked the Cygnus-Giza correlation proposed in Andrew Collins's most recent book THE CYGNUS MYSTERY. This has come by way of postings on the Graham Hancock message board, the premier forum of the ancient mysteries subject (along with the Hall of Maat, which has also debated the Cygnus-Giza correlation). For some two weeks Andrew meticulously answered all queries thrown at him by Robert and his supporters of the Orion Correlation theory. In just one week the first thread attracted over 270 postings and was discontinued since it had become too long and cluttered. Others started immediately, and since the last week in February there have been many hundreds of new postings on the Cygnus vs Orion debate.

However, Andrew had to discontinue the debate as he and his wife Sue moved house from Essex to the West Country, which through a series of unfortunate circumstances meant that he was offline for nearly a month. In Andrew's absence Robert Bauval ran rings around the Cygnus-Giza debate, stating boldly that it was now as dead as a swan in the water.

Nothing can be further from the truth, for Andrew has now had a chance to read and respond to all queries posed by Robert, and these he intended answering on the Graham Hancock message board. Unfortunately, the moderator deemed that it was too long and that Andrew should still address all individual points made by posters in his absence. Since this would take far too long, and many topics are duplicated, he has decided that the full response will instead appear here on the Andrew Collins website.

THE CYGNUS MYSTERY proposes that the earliest usage of the Christian symbol of the Crucifix derived from the pagan cult of Orpheus, who is shown on a magical gem as crucified on a cross. This itself is undoubtedly a representation of the Cygnus constellation, since this star group was said in Greek myth to have been Orpheus in the form of a swan. Now a new article finds further evidence of the relationship between Cygnus and the Crucifixion Cross in early Gnostic texts. CYGNUS vs ORION

THE CYGNUS MYSTERY proposes that the Giza plateau was the location for the cult of the falcon-headed god Sokar, before even the three main pyramids were built in the Fourth Dynasty of Egyptian history. Sokar can be shown to have a celestial counterpart in the northern night sky, which is identified by Andrew Collins as the Cygnus constellation. In view of Cygnus sight lines on the Giza plateau, he shows also that key stars in Cygnus overlay perfectly with the three main pyramids. Indeed, it is a better match that with those of Orion's Belt. In association with Speaking Tree Books of Glastonbury, Andrew Collins will be in Glastonbury on Sunday, 12 November to talk about everything from Cygnus as the source of cosmic life and death, to the constellation's role as the Cosmic Mother, and Cygnus's connection with the goddess Brigit. The venue is the Assembly Rooms in the High Street, where copies of his new book THE CYGNUS MYSTERY will be on sale.

Times are yet to be confirmed, but it is hoped that the event, which is entirely free, will include an outdoor meditation led by Andrew on Wearyall Hill, the 'neck' of a huge terrestrial swan in Glastonbury's magical landscape. QUESTCON06 UPDATE

Tickets are selling well for the 20th anniversary Questing Conference being
held on Saturday, 28 October at Cecil Sharp House, Camden, London NW1. All

with a Sunday walkabout through the streets of the City of London, this time
with the Cygnus Mystery in mind. Andrew Collins will show attendees the site of the former Temple of Isis in Sise Lane, between Queen Street and Victoria Street,
London EC2, and also nearby Vintners House, home of the Vintners Company,
one of London¹s oldest livery companies. They, along with the Dyers Company,
have been responsible for the ancient ceremony of Swan-upping on the River
Thames for six hundred years, and I argue that this is an echo of an ancient

Thornborough henge in Yorkshire is under threat from Tarmac again. This is after previous applications to quarry adjacent land was rejected. A new
application from them will also hopefully fail. Surely all this is a bad public relations exercise for them. Filip Coppens¹ new book THE PYRAMID AGE,
out next year, gives you all you need to know about pyramid sites worldwide, including the full story on the enigmatic Bosnian pyramids, which I still
have some nagging doubts about. Watch out for Robert Bauval¹s new book THE EGYPT CODE, out on 5 October. Not sure of its full contents, but it should be good, anyway. Also essential reading is David Lewis-Williams and Dave Pearce's book INSIDE THE NEOLITHIC MIND (Thames and Hudson, 2005), which explores early Neolithic beliefs and practices, including the bird cult and its links with vulture shamanism in the megalithic temples of South-east Turkey (as seen in FROM THE ASHES OF ANGELS, 1996).

MEGALITHOMANIA -

ANDREW COLLINS AND THE STAR THAT CHANGED THE WORLD

Andrew Collins is to exclusively reveal details of his new hush-hush book at the Megalithomania conference on ancient mysteries to be held in Glastonbury on the May Bank Holiday weekend. Moreover, the organisers have reduced the weekend ticket price from £80 to £65, making it accessible to everyone wanting to attend this unmissable event. Andrew is scheduled to appear during the prestigious evening slot, alongside Graham Hancock, on Saturday, 6 May. As part of a full audio-visual presentation Andrew will demonstrate that towards the end of the last Ice Age, high levels of cosmic rays rained down on the planet from a point source in the night sky. This caused noticeable behavioral changes in the minds of the Homo sapien race, at a time when cave art, astronomy, cosmology, celestial calendar systems and possibly even transatlantic journeys began flowering in a new and entirely unique manner.

This is an amazing discovery in itself, but there is clear evidence that as a result of these changes, the Palaeolithic world started focusing their attentions on one particular area of the sky from which the cosmic radiation almost certainly originated, revering it as the source of cosmic life and death. It is represented in the cave art of Western Europe, which reveals a profound interest in one specific constellation more than any other. The same interest is present within the orientations and symbolism connected with the oldest stone temples in the world, uncovered recently in Southeast Turkey, and thought to be 11,500 years old.

It is an understanding, Andrew surmises, that was tied to the sheer belief that life came from the cosmos, and would return there in death, fundamental cosmological ideals being understood by science for the first time today. These went on to influence religions worldwide, from the shamans of Siberia to the ancient Egyptians of the Pyramid age, from the earliest peoples of India and Pakistan to the Maya of Mexico and the Incas of Peru. Moreover, it is a belief preserved within the orientations and design of sacred monuments worldwide from the megalithic stone circles of Britain to the Pyramids of Egypt and the earthen structures of the American mound builders. One particular constellation crops up again and again, which we find also at the root of primary religious symbolism adopted by the earliest Christians, Moslems, Yezidis, Sabians, Mandaeans and Hindus. What is more, it survives today even within the superstitions and folk customs of Europe associated more usually with birth, death and the afterlife.

Never before has this story been told in public, and you are going to get the chance to hear it for the first time at Megalithomania. Everything is about to change, and it begins at 4.50pm on Saturday, 6 May in the Assembly Rooms, Glastonbury, where you must prepare yourselves to be stunned.
